Stories told through paint, paper, canvas and sound.

On Paper

Paintings on paper.

I love painting on paper because it’s more immediate than the canvas, I love seeing how with a few brush strokes I can get to create something new that didn’t exist before. That I didn’t expect.

I start with some lines, some splotches of colour that follow the natural movement of my hand, often without knowing what will come out of them.

And then once I’ve worked on the details, for example on the eyes if it’s a portrait or on each thick thread of the carpets and the reflection of the velvet of the sofa if it’s an interior, those first lines will make sense.

Or, sometimes those first lines become even more of a mystery.
